FilmScene Health and Safety Guidelines
FilmScene at the Chauncey is open for public screenings in Theater 1, 2 and 3 at 50% capacity. FilmScene at the Ped Mall will host our summer animation camp and receive comfort and presentation upgrades for a fall reopening.
FilmScene’s health and safety precautions are guided by trends in CDC Public Health Recommendations and current county Community Transmission levels, updated every Friday.
CURRENT STATUS: Johnson County is currently at HIGH as of Friday, August 20.
- FilmScene will implement distanced seating in theaters with reduced 50% capacity.
- Masks mandatory for all patrons and staff in public spaces, strongly suggested in theaters.
- Flexible at home work is encouraged when practical. Meetings with outside parties will be conducted with masks on if indoors. Indoor meetings will be masked in public spaces.
Expanded Health Policies for Special Events
FilmScene encourages vaccinations for all guests, embraces masking as a public health tool, and requests ticket buyers stay home and request a refund if exhibiting symptoms of illness.
Certain special events, which may include 100% capacity screenings, filmmaker visits, or catered receptions, will include additional wellness precautions.
FilmScene Special Event COVID-19 Wellness Checks for Patrons
For select special events, as indicated on a film’s event page, patrons are required to wear face coverings and must also present a 72-hour (or less) negative COVID-19 test for each individual attending the event. We will accept documentation of a vaccine card in lieu of a negative COVID-19 test. This policy will be enforced at special events, as indicated, until further notice.
About Our COVID-19 Safety Policy
During this period of ongoing fluctuations in public health status, FilmScene is implementing additional wellness policies for special events to ensure viability. Such policies are necessary to confidently proceed with these events. We appreciate the ongoing commitment of our patrons and community to a positive public health environment as we navigate these challenging times.
Current Refund Policy
All requests for refunds will be honored during this time.
