About the Series

With a career spanning over 40 years, multiple Emmy nominations over 50 film and television credits, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award, Donna Reed was a Hollywood Icon born on a farm outside of Denison, Iowa. We celebrate her life and work on the occasion of her centenary with a selection of films from her Oscar winning performance in From Here to Eternity to her breakthrough role in the Christmas Classic It’s a Wonderful Life and a Veteren’s Day presentation of They Were Expendable directed by John Ford. Most screenings will feature Reed’s daughter, Mary Owen, to contextualize her mother’s work through letters, stories, and conversations, with a return visit from Donna’s Oscar for From Here to Eternity!
