From the latest new release independents to big screen classics, late night fare to topical documentaries, rooftop screenings to family films, local films to the best from around the globe, FilmScene presents engaging films you otherwise wouldn't see—over 200 in the last year!

Dialogues and community events.
Talk isn't always cheap! Your support helps us devote time and resources to hosting international and American filmmakers, panel discussions, Skype Q&As and other dialogue events around film. Plus, each year, we work with dozens of local organizations on collaborative programming that engages our local community on important issues and topics.

Youth and community education.

From exposure to the best in cinema, to vocabulary and technique in filmmaking practices, FilmScene is the area’s premier film educator. Regional cinema, 101 courses, and youth camps dot our programming calendar year.

Affordable moviegoing.
Our general admission prices are at or below industry averages, and we make a special effort to offer discounted tickets to students and seniors. Through our curated series, we offer $2.50 family films, and Saturday late night programming FREE for UI Students.
