"Lynch's kinky fairy tale is a triumph of startling images and comic invention." — Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

Sailor (Nicholas Cage) and Lula (Laura Dern) are two lovers struggling to remain together even when fate seems intent on keeping them apart. In this case, fate is Lula's mother, Marietta Fortune (a delicious, Oscar-nominated Diane Ladd); a desperate woman who hates Sailor and will do anything to keep him away from her daughter. After Sailor is released from prison for murdering a man in self-defence, he and Lula embark on a sex-filled, rocking road trip, aware all the time that they are being hunted by Marietta's cronies. With its good and wicked witches, and references to Toto and the yellow brick road, David Lynch’s WILD AT HEART is an overt, elaborate homage to THE WIZARD OF OZ by way of BONNIE AND CLYDE. Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival, WILD AT HEART is Lynch’s first all-out comedy, but despite the prevailing tone of aggressive absurdity, it contains some of the filmmaker’s most harrowing scenes. It also contains one of his most memorable supporting casts with the likes of Willem Dafoe, Isabella Rossellini, Harry Dean Stanton, Crispin Glover, and Sheryl Lee populating Lynch's world of weirdos.
