A Science on Screen® Presentation

Including a pre-show presentation from KCRG First Alert Storm Team meteorologist Corey Thompson

"The sight of so many objects and creatures being buffeted about carries a certain apocalyptic splendor."—Jonathan Rosenbaum, Chicago Reader

During the approach of the most powerful storm in decades, university professor Dr. Jo Harding (Helen Hunt) and an underfunded team of students prepare the prototype for Dorothy, a ground-breaking tornado data-gathering device conceived by her estranged husband, Bill (Bill Paxton). When Harding tells Bill that Dorothy is ready for testing—and that their privately funded rival Dr. Jonas Miller (Cary Elwes) has stolen the idea and built his own—Bill rejoins the team for one last mission.

An initiative of the COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE, with major support from the ALFRED P. SLOAN FOUNDATION.

In recognition of the devastating impact of Tuesday evening's tornadoes on Northwest Iowa, FilmScene will be collecting donations and donating a portion of Park concessions proceeds to the Greenfield Tornado Relief Fund. The film will be preceded by a Science on Screen event with a preshow extreme weather lesson from the KCRG First Alert Storm Team. See you in the park. You can also make direct donations here: www.greenfieldiafoundation.org
