Presented as part of All Aboard!—train movies of the 30s and 40s
"Sturges at his pithiest, with his choicest cast of supporting loons."—Marjorie Baumgarten, Austin Chronicle
Gerry (Claudette Colbert) is unhappy in her marriage to struggling inventor Tom (Joel McCrea), so she hops a train to Florida to try and find the life she deserves. On the southbound locomotive, she meets John D. Hackensacker III (Rudy Vallée), one of the richest men in the world, after sneaking into his sleeper car trying to duck a group of obnoxious millionaires. Desperate to win his wife back, Tom flies down to Palm Beach and meets Gerry with her new beau and his sister, Princess Centimillia (Mary Astor), who is instantly smitten. In typical Preston Sturges fashion, hijinks abound in this incredibly fast paced screwball comedy.
